NEWS
Reminder ECIS Data Call: Submit your data by 31 January 2026
The ENCR and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission are calling on cancer registries across Europe to contribute their data for the fight against cancer. By submitting up-to-date information, registries play a crucial role in strengthening cancer policy, improving patient outcomes, and building a more complete picture of the cancer burden on the continent. The deadline for data submission to be included in the next annual update of the European Cancer Information System (ECIS) is 31 Jan 2026.
European Commission Initiative on Prostate Cancer (EC-PrC) - call for expression of interest
The Working Group of the European Commission Initiative on Prostate Cancer (EC-PrC) is being established by the JRC in collaboration with the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) with the aim to develop evidence-based guidelines for prevention, screening and diagnosis of prostate cancer, together with a quality assurance scheme covering the entire care pathway. Deadline: 15 Feb 2026.
CancerWatch News: The European survey on cancer registry practices is now open
The CancerWatch Joint Action is conducting a Europe-wide survey on population-based cancer registry practices. The survey has been developed in collaboration with the European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) and the Joint Research Centre. The survey will produce an updated, comparable European overview of how cancer registration is organised, resourced and implemented in practice. Broad participation from cancer registries is essential to ensure that this overview accurately reflects real-world conditions across Europe. Deadline: 4 Feb 2026.
State of Health in the EU - launch country Health Profiles and Synthesis Report
The European Commission has published its Synthesis Report and 2025 edition of Country Health Profiles under the State of Health in the EU. The reports, prepared by the OECD and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, are designed to be a one-stop-shop for knowledge and information on a country’s health system, put into the perspective of a cross-EU comparison. The Country Health Profiles are a comprehensive resource covering each country's latest health policy challenges, health system reforms and investments.
