Public health data analyst vacancy at the EC Joint Research Centre

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is recruiting a Programme Officer – Science for Policy Public health data analyst (Function Group IV) to work in the area of Cancer Information.

The position is based in the Directorate for Health and Food, whose mission is to protect health and promote wellbeing by ensuring that EU policies and regulations make the best use of scientific knowledge, evidence and standards. Within it, the Unit Disease Prevention provides integrated and prospective evidence to reduce the burden of cancer, rare diseases and other non-communicable diseases.

The selected candidate will work closely with the European Cancer Information System (ECIS) to improve cancer data utilisation in the EU, acting as a bridge between cancer registries, scientific research and policy-making. Key tasks include contributing to the expansion of ECIS (with regular survival and prevalence indicators, and integration of cancer screening and monitoring data), supporting its integration within the European Health Data Space (EHDS) framework, and collaborating with the European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR), cancer screening registries and other stakeholders.

The post offers an opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary, international environment and to contribute to scientific and policy deliverables such as peer‑reviewed publications, reports and presentations.
