With the rapid evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, the oncology community is facing some challenges: how to diagnose and provide best available care while minimising the visits in the hospital (or other healthcare facilities) and maximising the safety for both patients and professionals. Cancer screening programs are halted, treatment modalities are modified and follow-up visits are postponed.
The JRC and ENCR are running a survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on cancer registration medium and long term activities connected with the impact on cancer detection and treatment.
The information received can also be used to assess if common recommendations on how to analyse and interpret time and geographical variations for 2020 (and maybe future years) cancer data are needed.
In addition, the survey could be used to investigate the feasibility, at least for some cancer registries, of carrying out specific studies to identify the impact of COVID-19 on cancer patients and outcomes.
Deadline for submission is 24th July. The password to access the questionnaire is: JRC2020
