ENCR Steering Committee Elections, Autumn 2017
Currently there are five vacancies on the ENCR Steering Committee.
A call for candidatures, from interested and available experts, who would like to represent cancer registries and contribute to the development of the Network, will open on 1st May 2017.
Mandate of ENCR Steering Committee members
Each candidate should be prepared to actively participate in ENCR activities in cooperation with other members of the Steering Committee.
A non-exhaustive list of activities includes:
• participating in two to four annual steering committee meetings;
• addressing issues related to registration practice;
• advising on the direction of the ENCR;
• assisting in organization of scientific meetings and workshops;
• commenting on and approving documents originating from ENCR activities;
• participating in working groups;
• representing the ENCR;
• contributing to ENCR projects.
The prospective candidates are advised to refer to the Terms of Reference of ENCR Steering Committee distributed with these instructions.
The duration of the mandate is three years, with the possibility of re-election once.
Eligibility criteria of candidates
A candidate must be currently employed by a cancer registry which is a member of the ENCR. Conditions for Cancer Registry membership to the ENCR can be found here.
A member of the current ENCR Steering Committee may be candidate for re-election, provided that the time of continuous service will not reach or exceed six years at the time of the next ENCR Steering Committee meeting.
A former member of the ENCR Steering Committee may be a candidate, provided that at least three years elapsed since the end of their previous office.
Candidates must be supported by the director of their affiliated cancer registry and by two other ENCR members (please see the candidature conditions). At least one signatory should be an ENCR member in another country. In addition, a motivation letter should be included.
A candidate must submit the candidature form complete with all requested information and signatures. Electronic signatures are accepted as long as the signatories are in the copy of the e-mail submitting the form. Please find the candidature form here.
ENCR Steering Committee elections
Once the candidature period is closed, a list of candidates will be prepared and all ENCR members will be asked to vote. The CV, motivation letter and the photograph of each candidate will be provided to the voters. The candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected as members of the ENCR Steering Committee.
Eligibility criteria for voting
Registries not members of the ENCR will not be eligible to vote or support candidates in the upcoming ENCR Steering Committee elections.
